One-Way Video Templates
One-Way Video Templates are reusable question sets for async video interviews. Define your questions once, then apply a template whenever you schedule a one-way video interview for a candidate or in bulk. Templates store default settings (thinking time, retakes, instructions) that pre-populate the scheduling form.
Access
- Click Jobs in the sidebar and select a job
- Click the gear icon (Job Settings) in the job header and select AI Configuration, or open the wizard (pencil icon) and navigate to Step 4 — AI Configuration
- Click the One-Way Templates sub-tab
Required permission: Job Permission EditJob (Super Admins and Admins always have access)
Template List
The One-Way Templates tab shows all templates for the job. Each template card displays:
- Template name
- Question count — number of questions in the template (blue badge)
- Usage count — number of interviews that have used this template (green badge, shown when usage > 0)
- Default thinking time — the thinking time setting stored in the template
- Default retakes — the retake limit stored in the template

Reordering: Drag the handle on the left side of a question card to reorder questions. Candidates see questions in the order shown.
Removing: Click the trash icon on the right side of a question card to remove it.
All questions must have text before the template can be saved. Empty question fields block the save action.
Click Create Template to save the new template. You are returned to the template list.
Editing a Template
Click Edit on a template card. The same form opens pre-populated with the existing template data. Make your changes and click Save.
Editing a template does not retroactively change interviews that have already been scheduled using that template. Each scheduled interview captures the template data at the time of scheduling.
Using Templates When Scheduling
When scheduling a one-way video interview (either for an individual candidate or via bulk schedule), you select a template instead of a raw question set. After selecting a template:
- The Default Thinking Time and Default Allowed Retakes from the template are pre-populated in the form
- You can override these values before submitting
See One-Way Video scheduling and Bulk Scheduling for full scheduling details.
