Access
- Click Jobs in the sidebar and select a job
- Click the gear icon (Job Settings) in the job header and select AI Configuration, or open the wizard (pencil icon) and navigate to Step 4 — AI Configuration
Required permission: Job Permission EditJob (Super Admins and Admins always have access)
The section has four sub-tabs:
- Extracted Entities (default) — Read-only view of AI-extracted job requirements
- AI Instructions — Per-job instructions for automated AI decision-making
- One-Way Templates — Reusable question sets for one-way video interviews
- AI Interview Templates — Reusable scripts for live AI-conducted voice interviews
Company-Wide AI Settings
Company-wide AI evaluation settings (match scoring customization and interview agent behavior) are configured at /manage/ai-instructions. These apply across all jobs automatically. Per-job AI Instructions (described below) override or extend these defaults for a specific job.
Extracted Entities
Read-only view of entities automatically extracted from the job description by AI. These entities are used for candidate match scoring.
Entity Categories
| Category | Content |
|---|---|
| Technical Skills | Programming languages, frameworks, tools, technologies |
| Soft Skills | Communication, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving |
| Experience | Required work experience and industry background |
| Education | Degree requirements, certifications, qualifications |
| Industry Knowledge | Domain expertise, market knowledge, sector experience |
| Minimum Requirements | Must-have qualifications and non-negotiable criteria |
Re-extract Entities
Click Re-extract Entities to queue the job for re-extraction. This is useful if you updated the job description after initial creation. Results update asynchronously.
If no entities have been extracted yet (e.g., the job description was empty or too brief), click Extract Entities to trigger the first extraction.
AI Instructions
Configure per-job instructions that tell the AI what to do when specific events happen for a candidate on this job. These instructions are written in plain language — the AI interprets them to decide whether to advance, reject, or request approval for a candidate.
Triggers
Each trigger corresponds to a point in the hiring process. Enable a trigger using the toggle, then write your instructions in the text area that appears.
| Trigger | When it fires |
|---|---|
| New Application | When a candidate applies or is added to this job |
| Evaluation Completed | After a one-way interview evaluation is completed |
| AI Interview Completed | After an AI interview is completed and evaluated |
Writing Instructions
Instructions are plain-language descriptions of the decision logic you want the AI to follow. Be specific about thresholds and outcomes.
Example for New Application:
If match above 80%, advance to next stage. Below 40%, reject. Otherwise request approval.
Example for Evaluation Completed:
If evaluation score is above 70%, advance to next round. Otherwise request approval for manual review.
Example for AI Interview Completed:
If the AI interview recommendation is strong and overall score is above 75%, advance to next stage. If score is below 50%, reject. Otherwise request approval.
Saving
Click Save at the bottom of the page to save all trigger settings at once. Instructions for disabled triggers are not saved.
AI actions taken based on these instructions appear in the AI Activity tab of the Inbox, where they can be reviewed and undone within 30 minutes. See Inbox for details.
One-Way Templates
Create and manage reusable question sets for one-way video interviews. Templates define the questions candidates respond to, along with default thinking time, retake allowances, and instructions.
See One-Way Video Templates for full details.
AI Interview Templates
Create and manage reusable scripts for live AI-conducted voice interviews. Templates define the questions the AI asks, evaluation rubrics per question, the AI voice persona, language, and maximum interview duration.
See AI Interview Templates for full details.
