Account Security
Change your password and manage two-factor authentication.
Access Account Security
- Hover over your profile picture in the top navigation
- Select Settings from the dropdown menu
The dropdown menu label says Settings, but the page that opens is titled Account (route: /user/account).
Page Layout
The Account page shows three sections:
| Section | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Change Password | Update your account password |
| Two-Factor Authentication | Enable or disable 2FA |
| Notification Preferences | Toggle which inbox event types you receive notifications for |
The Change Password section is hidden while you are in the middle of the 2FA setup flow (QR code step and verification step). It reappears once setup is complete or cancelled.

Update your password to keep your account secure. After changing your password, you will be logged out and must log in again with the new password.
How to Change Your Password
- Go to the Account page (select Settings from the profile dropdown)
- Enter your Current Password
- Enter your New Password
- Enter the new password again in Confirm Password

| Uppercase | One uppercase letter (A-Z) |
| Lowercase | One lowercase letter (a-z) |

The Change Password button is not disabled by validation errors — it can always be clicked. Validation messages appear on screen after you submit with invalid input.
Two-Factor Authentication
Add an extra layer of security to your account. With 2FA enabled, you need both your password and a code from your phone to log in.
Benefits of 2FA
- Protects your account if your password is stolen
- Adds a second verification step at login
- Uses time-based codes that change every 30 seconds
2FA Status
The page shows your current 2FA status:
| Status | Display |
|---|---|
| Not enabled | Setup button and explanation |
| Enabled | Checkmark and disable option |
Enable Two-Factor Authentication

- Click Set Up Two-Factor Authentication
Step 2: Scan QR Code
A QR code appears on screen along with a manual entry code.
- Open your authenticator app on your phone
- Tap Add account or +
- Scan the QR code
If you cannot scan the QR code, enter the manual entry code shown below the QR code into your authenticator app.
Step 3: Verify Setup
- Click Continue to Verification
- Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app
- Click Verify
Result: 2FA is now enabled. You see a confirmation message.

If you need to disable 2FA:
- Go to the Account page (select Settings from the profile dropdown)
- Click Disable Two-Factor Authentication
- Enter your 6-digit verification code in the Verification Code field
- Click Confirm Disable
Result: 2FA is disabled. You only need your password to log in.
Disabling 2FA reduces your account security. Only disable it if necessary.

Click Cancel to keep 2FA enabled and close the verification form.
Logging In with 2FA
After enabling 2FA, your login process changes:
- Enter your email and password as normal
- Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app
- Click Verify or Login
Result: You are logged into VoiceHire.
The code changes every 30 seconds. If your code expires, wait for the next one.
Notification Preferences
Control which inbox event types trigger notifications for your account.
- Go to the Account page (select Settings from the profile dropdown)
- Scroll to the Notification Preferences section
- Toggle each notification type on or off
Changes save immediately — there is no Save button for this section. If a toggle update fails, it reverts automatically and shows an error message.
Tips
- Use a password manager to create and store strong passwords
- Update your authenticator app if you change phones
- Log out of shared devices after use
- Change your password if you suspect unauthorized access
